Oh What Fun It Is To Ride
So yesterday I went and picked up Lauren and her horse Van and trailered them to Rose Court so that she and I could ride together. She worked on Van's jumping while I just worked on Remmi's canter at the left lead and then started puttin him over some small things. I started walkin and trottin him over a set of four ground poles and he did good. He picked his feet up and placed them where he needed to. So then I moved him to a little three inch cavalettie duo and he did fine over those. I moved the second one to about six inches and put him over that. Then moved them both up another three inches and he did good. So I started takin him over an eighteen inch crossrail and he didn't even look at it. After that I got the idea to put the jump to a two foot vertical and no hesitation what so ever from him and we were goin over it! It felt awesome to jump again and he definately has the power to go higher. I mean hell, he jumped out of his temporary home (the other arena) the night before! That fence is about four feet! So I definately have a jumper on my hands. But that was just for fun. From here on out we are workin at his walk and trot and gettin him to go balanced. So the trainin fork is goin back on and we are about to do A LOT of circles and figure eights and serpentines and working on balanced walk/trot and trot/walk and haltin transitions. We may not be ready for the jumpin clinic at the end of January. If we are we are and if not then I haven't lost any money. After we are balanced at all that then we will move to the canter and work on balancin that. One step at a time with him. After Lauren and I were done ridin in the arena we decided to take our boys on a trail ride. Remmi did awesome. Through water and mud and everythin. He just tossed his head quite a few times but oh well. Lol! I can't wait to ride him again! I had so much fun ridin with Lauren!

Sooooo Happy!
So Remmi has not been in trainin for a couple of weeks because Christina broke her arm. He is now at Rose Court Farms taking Sebastian spot while Sebastian is in trainin. He is settlin in real good. I actually had Mary Kathleen (an old friend) come out and ride Remmi as her Christmas present. They did amazing together! He didn't miss a beat and was so willin to please her and take care of her! And then I got on him and realized...we really need to work on the canter. He won't hold it very long tracking left and he won't give it to me at all tracking right. So we have alot of round pen work comin up but I'm sure he will learn just fine. He is that type of horse. I am goin to try and get the pictures from tonight from Mary Kathleen so I can put them up here. I can't wait to ride him next!

Yay!!!
So I haven't spent much time with Remmi just cause he is in trainin and I've started workin some of Christina's horses. But she did tell me however that Remmi no longer needs to be ridden in the trainin fork! He holds his headset and his frame on his own now! I'm so excited! But he still refuses to pick up his right lead. His is still stiff from his hooves bein fixed so Christina is puttin him on a 5 day bute regimend. That will make him not so sore and will minimize the inflammation. I am also goin to call Joy Baker tomorrow and see if she can come adjust him asap cause I'm sure due to his hooves bein messed up previously his bones are probably all out of wack also. So hopefully after all is said and done we will really see him blossom! He also tracks the way he is supposed to now. No more clicking of his hooves! Yay! I want to start takin him to clinics once he is done with trainin. Just for fun ya know! Never hurts to go and learn other ways of doin things. What works for one horse might not work for another so the more knowledge the better and he is gonna be my partner in crime! Lol!

Much Better
Today was farrier day. His hooves were messed up all the way around. the inside of his hooves were longer than the outside of his hooves. So it would be like us walkin on our arches as opposed to flat. Not only that but the degrees were wrong all the way around too. The degree of the angle of the hoof is supposed to be between 50 and 55 degrees and all four are supposed to be the same degree. Well his front left was 49, his rear left was 54, his rear right was 56, and his front right was 51. It was crazy. So not only was it like he was walkin on his arches but it was like he was walkin in one sneaker and three different size high heels. So the farrier pulled the shoes and fixed his hooves. Remmi is sore but thats to be expected. Here are a few pics from today.

Awesome! *Pic Heavy*
I went out to Christina's place today to watch her train Remmi. Well it was mostly me ridin him and her trainin me to train him. It went really good! He is learnin to move off your leg, and is really startin to carry himself right, and he is sooo light on the bit! Christina did get on him for a bit and worked more on his headset and took him over a little crossrail just for the hell of it! He looked so cute goin over them! Anyway here are a bunch of pictures!

A Visit from the Vet
Don't worry it wasn't anythin major! Remmi just needed his strangles vaccination. I did notice however that he has a patch of hair missin from his back. It as will is just a superficial wound but I blame Czar, Christina's Oldenburg, Lol! Not sure if it was him or not but I do know that he is that alpha in the herd. It's not a big deal though. Just a little lost hair, it will grow back. He did really good for the vet though. AND he actually walked up to me in the pasture. I think he is startin to learn who I am. It was really nice to see him do that and yes, he got a treat. Lol! Anyway I'm goin out to Christina's tomorrow so hopefully I will get to see her work with him. I will try to get pictures. :)

"Go"
So as of Thursday last week Remmington has been in professional trainin with Christina. I haven't been able to watch his trainin sessions yet but she says he is doin real good and is a fast learner. He is already learnin to come onto the bit in just a couple of rides! Hopefully he continues to learn fast and maybe Christina will have him started on jumpin when his thirty days are up. I'm so excited! I can't wait to see what he turns into!
